PLANNING TEAMS

Planning Teams

Stakeholder Team

This group had primary responsibility for developing the plan. It was composed of key landowners, land managers, agency personnel, and environmental group representatives but was limited to around 20 participants for logistical reasons. Members of this group will also identify ways to partner to implement the plan in coming years.

Technical Teams

These teams were advisory to the Stakeholder group. Multiple teams were formed around different targets. They helped identify, assemble and analyze available data on current and historic conditions in the Nehalem watershed; provided suggestions and technical expertise to the stakeholder group; helped the stakeholder group understand the biological needs of the targets and their current health status; identified data gaps and provided technical critique of project products; and reviewed and commented on the final plan.

Implementation Team

This team will develop a more detailed work plan for some of the strategies identified here that breaks out the individual activities and tasks that will be needed to implement the strategy. The work plan will also identify lead entities for the activities as well as cost estimates and needs assessments to define where additional capacity will be needed to put this plan into action. The Implementation Team will also develop a monitoring plan that identifies key components of the Nehalem watershed that should be tracked to assess the health of the watershed based on the information in each target’s health assessment.
